Emma Andiyevska was born on March 19, 1931 in Stalino (now Donetsk) in Ukraine. Since 1943 she lives in the West. 1957 she graduated from the Ukrainian Free University. Naturalized citizen of the USA. Andiyevska lives in Germany now. Member of Ukrainian PEN Club, Union of professional artists in Germany, National union of Ukrainian writers. Awarded with the Antonovych Foundation Prize for her "Novel about Human Destiny" (1984), International literary prize "Triumph" (2003), Order of the "Yi" journal for intellectual courage (2002) and "Hlodoskyi skarb" prize (2009), Shevchenko National Prize (2018).
